Placed on Show Cause:

Potomac Massage Training Institute – (Washington DC)

The Commission has acted to defer the decision on the school’s renewal of accreditation and place the school on Show Cause for moving to a location in Maryland without state approval to operate. The Commission has extended the school’s accreditation grant for a period of 60 days. During this time, the school must notify the Commission of its current operational status and location, and where it is within the Maryland state approval application process. The school must also submit an interim report addressing the concerns remaining from the renewal process, including the 2013 annual report not yet submitted. At such time the Commission will consider further extensions to the grant of accreditation and the new location application.

Placed on Probation:

  • Virginia School of Massage – (Charlottesville, VA)

The Commission has acted to accept the school’s 2013 annual report and place the school on probation for low completion and placement rates. The school has had conditions on the 2011 and 2012 annual reports for low completion and placement rates, and the 2013 annual report is not yet showing rates which meet the threshold in all programs.

  •  Educating Hands School of Massage – (Miami, FL)

The Commission has acted to place the school on Probation until the 2013 Annual Report and all applicable late fees are submitted and accepted by the Commission.

Continued Probation:

Academy of Natural Therapy – (Greeley, CO)

The Commission has acted to continue the Probation from August 2012 for low ratio of current assets to current liabilities as demonstrated by financial audits. The school has been granted an extension for good cause based on internally prepared financial statements. The Commission will re-evaluate the school when the next audited statements are available for consideration.
