We couldn’t do it without you
Much of the work of COMTA is done by individuals who generously volunteer their time. Our volunteers read materials from applicant schools, visit campuses around the country, attend meetings and conferences, work on committees, plan events, make policies, decide on accreditation matters and oversee the operation of the agency. Some volunteers come from our currently accredited schools and programs while others are simply committed to quality education for massage therapy and skin care. We couldn’t do our work without our volunteers.
Recently we have also had a handful of people volunteer with monetary support for COMTA. They heard that there was something we wanted to participate in on behalf of the massage therapy profession but we didn’t want the expense to be passed on to our member schools. These people stepped up and offered their support in June 2012 to help COMTA maintain membership in the Academic Consortium for Complementary and Alternative Health Care (ACCAHC):
- Dr. Ben Benjamin, The Benjamin Institute
- Andrew Biel, Books of Discovery
- Jeff Riach, Oakworks
COMTA is proud to be a member of ACCAHC . Participation in ACCAHC as a full member requires that the profession represented has an accrediting agency which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. COMTA fills that role for the massage therapy profession, allowing us to participate along with chiropractic, acupuncture and Oriental medicine, direct entry mid-wifery, and naturopathic medicine. Many thanks to our supporters for helping us continue our work with ACCAHC. We appreciate your generosity!
