The Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA) has concluded its November 4 – 5, 2016 Commission meeting.  By action of the Commission, the following schools have received:

 

Initial Accreditation

  • Rexburg College of Massage Therapy (Rexburg, ID) – Institutional, November 2016 October 2023

 

Renewal of Accreditation

  • Academy of Natural Therapies (Greeley, CO) – Institutional

Remove Show Cause and renew accreditation, November 2016 – April 2023

  •  Cortiva Institute – Chicago (Chicago, Crystal Lake, Joliet, IL) – Institutional

Remove Probation and renew accreditation, November 2016 – April 2023

  • Manatee Technical College Therapeutic Massage Program (Bradenton, FL) – Programmatic

November 2016 October 2023

  • Moraine Valley Community College Massage Therapy Program (Palos Hills, IL) – Programmatic

November 2016 – October 2023

 

Deferral of Renewal of Accreditation Decision

  • Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy (Colorado Springs, CO)

The Commission defers the decision for renewal and extends the grant of accreditation until April 30, 2016 to allow the school time to provide additional evidence of compliance.

 

Remove Probation:

  • Rizzieri School for the Healing Arts (Voorhees, NJ)

 

Probation:

  • Baker College Massage Therapy Program (Clinton Township, Jackson, Muskegon, MI)

The Commission places the program at the Clinton Township, Jackson and Muskegon locations on probation for continued low completion and placement rates.


Please note:  Renewal schools placed on show cause, probation or deferral are considered accredited institutions.
