COMTA Staffing Update

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

COMTA COMMISSION ALERT
May 2019

Farewells and congratulations are in order for the COMTA staff! Farewell to COMTA’s Director of Accreditation, Angie Myer, who will be leaving us on June 3rd. Angie will be travelling the world with her family for the next year and making the most of a dream opportunity to experience, first-hand, the many differences and surprising similarities among cultures across the globe! We wish Angie and her family “fair winds and following seas!” Please give Angie a call to wish her well!

Congratulations goes to Dawn Hogue who has been fufulling the role of Acting Executive Director since the departure of Kate Zulaski. After observing Dawn execute every function asked of her with superior skill and competence for over a year, the Commission was pleased to offer Dawn the permanent position of COMTA Executive Director, effective June 2019. COMTA’s Executive Director is a position crucial to our ability to appropriately deliver services and assistance to both our member and potential member schools. As Executive Director, Dawn will have primary responsibility for the operations of the organization including financial affairs, staffing and volunteer activities, compliance with regulatory bodies, smooth implementation of accreditation functions, and working with the Commissioners to maintain and enhance the recognition of COMTA as an authority for education in the massage and esthetics professional communities.  Please reach out to Dawn with your congratulations!

We also want to remind everyone about the generous grant from the AMTA to provide financial support to schools who undertake the accreditation process as well the generous support from the ABMP for providing financial incentives to their Premier Member schools that pursue the COMTA-Endorsed Curriculum. Please contact COMTA staff who would love to share the details of these programs with you directly!

COMTA is hosting a Pre-Conference session in coordination with the AFMTE 2019 Educational Congress where we will share all the details you want and need to know about how COMTA recognition can propel your school to the highest level of excellence!  The session is FREE and no registration is required – we hope to see you on Wednesday July 24 from 2pm – 5pm!
