Below are additional school actions that have occurred after the January 30, 2013 Commission meeting.

Voluntary Withdrawal from Institutional Accreditation:

•Florida Academy (Fort Myers, FL) – The school sent notification on March 1, 2013 of intention to voluntarily withdraw from institutional accreditation.  The school has obtained institutional accreditation with the Council on Occupational Education (COE).  This withdrawal will be pending until the Eligibility and Certification Approval Report (ECAR) is updated to reflect COE as the primary accrediting agency.

•National Massage Therapy Institute (Philadelphia, PA; Eggs Harbor, NJ; Wilmington, DE; and Falls Church, VA) – The school has obtained institutional accreditation with the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), please visit their website for more information: http://www.abhes.org/ 

Voluntary Withdrawal from Programmatic Accreditation:

•Salter College – Massage Program (West Boylston, MA) – The school (including the massage program) is still accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), please visit their website for more information: http://www.acics.org/

School Closure:

•Academy of Somatic Healing Arts (Norcross, GA) – The last date of instruction and official closure of the school was on February 24, 2013. If you need further information, please contact the Georgia State Board: http://sos.georgia.gov/plb/massage/
