Cortiva Branch Closure Notifications

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA) received Teach Out Plans for the following Cortiva Institute announced closures:

Cortiva Institute New Jersey (Wall Township, NJ)

The Cortiva Institute in Wall Township, NJ closed effective March 7, 2019.  All remaining students were allowed to transfer to a nearby COMTA-accredited institution, Institute for Therapeutic Massage to complete their training.

Cortiva Institute New Jersey is considered a branch campus of Cortiva Institute Pennsylvania.  Cortiva Pennsylvania main campus in King of Prussia, PA remains open and accredited through its remaining grant, expiring April 2025.

Cortiva Institute Chicago (Chicago, Crystal Lake, and Joliet, IL)

The Crystal Lake auxiliary classroom closed effective April 1, 2019.  All remaining students were allowed to transfer to a nearby accredited institution.

The Joliet branch campus will close effective June 30, 2019.  Remaining students have been given the option to expedite their program to graduate prior to June 30 or transfer to another school in the area.

The Chicago Loop main campus will close effective December 31, 2019. All existing students will have completed the program and graduated by that date.

Cortiva Institute Connecticut (Groton & Westport, CT)

The Cortiva Institute Connecticut branch campuses in Groton and Westport will close effective June 10, 2019.  All remaining students will complete their training at the main campus, which remains open and accredited through its remaining grant, expiring April 2022.

Cortiva Seattle (Seattle, Federal Way, WA)                                                    

The Cortiva Institute Seattle and its auxiliary classroom will close effective June 30, 2019.  The institution provided evidence that it is allowing all remaining students to graduate before this date.
